Originally produced in 1980 as an album, Tell Me On A Sunday was composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber and starred Marti Webb. The lyrics were written by Don Black.
It was later reworked as the first act of Song and Dance in 1982, in which Webb reprised her role. The second act of the show featured Wayne Sleep dancing to the music from Lloyd Webber's other successful recording Variations (variations on the A minor Caprice of Paganini) Bernadette Peters appeared in the Broadway version of the show in 1985.
The show was substantially re-written in 2003 for a London production which starred Denise Van Outen. Marti Webb succeeded her and subsequently toured the UK with the show.
