Telex Communications Burnsville, Minnesota manufacturer of hearing aids and audio equipment. Founded in 1936 as a maker of hearing aids, it merged in 1998 with Electro-Voice, a competitor founded in 1930 which provided John Glenn's microphone during his orbit of earth in 1962. Current revenue is estimated at $320 million.
In August 2006, the company was acquired by Germany's Bosch Group for $420 million.
