Telecom Technologies, Inc.

Telecom Technologies, Inc. was a telecommunications consultancy and softswitch manufacturer headquartered in the Telecom Corridor in Richardson, Texas. As of 2000 it had over 200 employees. The company was acquired by Sonus Networks, Inc. that year for $750 million.
In 1994 Anousheh Ansari, with her brother-in-law Amir Ansari and her husband Hamid Ansari, co-founded Telecom Technologies using $50,000 in retirement savings. All three Iranian-Americans quit their jobs as MCI engineers. [1] In 2000, they sold the company, with the founders alone receiving a reported $550 million in stock options. After the sale, the stock fell in value, and a stockholder lawsuit including allegations of insider trading is pending in the federal courts.[2]
Initially focusing on integrated software and professional services, by 1996 the company had created their flagship product line FASTest. In 1999 FASTest was sold to to Hewlett Packard's Measurement Organization. In May 1998, Telecom Technologies acquired Green River Systems, a provider of Local Number Portability and Telecommunications Management Network products and services. In June 1999, Telecom Technologies announced its INtelligentIP softswitch and its INtelligentACD operator services application, soon becoming one of the leading softswitch vendors in the marketplace.
