Tel Aviv 2000 Terminal
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 2000 Terminal, more commonly known as the Arlozorov Terminal in Tel Aviv, Israel, is a bus terminal. It is located on the border of Tel Aviv and Ramat Gan, next to the Ayalon Highway and at the end of Jabotinsky Street from Petah Tikva and Tel Aviv's Arlozorov Street. Next to it is the Tel Aviv Center Railway Station (a.k.a. Savidor).
It is a joint rail and bus transportation hub that plays a major role in both short- and long-distance public transportation in Israel, together with the Tel Aviv Central Bus Station, which lies a few kilometers to the south.
Buses from the Egged, Dan, Margalit and Superbus bus companies stop at the terminal.
The many names in use for the terminal can be confusing, since many people only know the station by one name. For example, the official name for the bus terminal, which is 2000 Terminal, is relatively unknown and used by very few people. The well-known name Arlozorov Terminal, also used by some bus companies, is derived from Arlozorov St., a major street next to the terminal, and is not official.
Most of the terminal, with the exception of the train station, lies in the open air, unlike the main bus stations of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, which are inside large buildings and double as shopping malls. Officially, the bus and railway stations are separate terminals, but they are in fact a single fully integrated public transportation hub.
