Edward John MacDougall (born Inverness 8 January 1947) is a retired Scottish footballer and successful businessman.
Ted MacDougall was a prolific goalscorer who played for eight teams: Liverpool F.C. Reserves (1966-1967), York City (1967-1969), AFC Bournemouth (1969-1972), Manchester United (1972-1973), West Ham United (1973), Norwich City (1973-1976), Southampton (1976-1978), AFC Bournemouth (1978-1980) and Blackpool (1980). He scored 256 goals in 535 league appearances and won seven full international caps for Scotland.
In an F.A. Cup tie for A.F.C. Bournemouth, in January 1971, he scored nine goals in an 11-0 win against Margate. He formed a successful striking partnership with Phil Boyer at four of his clubs. The pair took part in his most notable goal in 1972, a spectacular flying header against Aston Villa that was captured by the Match of the Day cameras. Fans at some of his clubs dubbed him "Supermac".
In retirement, he became a successful businessman in Canada and is now a coach with the Atlanta Silverbacks[1].
