Ted Dekker is the author of the novels Black, Red, White, THR3E, Blink, Showdown, Saint, Heaven's Wager, When Heaven Weeps, Thunder of Heaven, A Martyr's Song and the co-author of Blessed Child, A Man Called Blessed, and House

Dekker's dust cover blurb states that he was "raised in the jungles of Indonesia" (where he lived on and off until he was nineteen) -- now he lives in the mountains of the U.S. state of Colorado with his wife and children. He is known for novels that "combine adrenaline-laced stories packed with unexpected plot twists, unforgettable characters, and incredible confrontations between good and evil." Before he started his career as an author, Ted Dekker ran a California-based company with his brother selling adult diapers. According to an informational CD contained in some editions of House, the company was very successful and sold over 6 million diapers their first year of business.

In 2004 Dekker released all volumes from his Circle Trilogy: Black, Red and White -- a combination of suspense, political intrigue and C.S. Lewis-inspired, Christian analogy-infused worlds, with some influence from The Matrix as well. The series "tells the story of a man named Thomas Hunter who lives in two different realities. In one reality, he is trying to stop a virus known as the Raison Strain that will destroy the world, while in the other, he is a respected military leader of the Forest People who is trying to save them from a horrible calamity that will change life as they know it."

Like Stephen King, a lot of Dekker's novels are loosely connected to each other.

Recently, Ted published his first non-fiction work, in which he examines the Slumber of Christianity, and hopes to "awaken a passion for heaven on earth" in the hearts of believers.

On April 1, 2006 he released House (co-written with prolific Christian fiction writer Frank Peretti). THR3E, a novel of good, evil, and all that lies between, began filming in October 2005 and will be released on January 5, 2007. The movie's producer is Ralph Winter (X-Men and its sequels, Being Joe Goodman, Fantastic Four, along with Hangman's Curse and other Christian indie films).

So far in 2006, Dekker has already released Project: Showdown. The second 'Project' book, Project:Saint, was released September 30, 2006.

Ted Dekker, in a true spirit of Christian charity, is known to work with mentally challeged children. Having suffeered from mild retardation all his life, Dekker has attempted to aid families working to support their special-need children, as well as offering spiritual guidance and tutoring. [1]
