Technician Fourth Class

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Technician Fourth Class (abbreviated as Tech 4 or T/4) was a technician grade during World War II under the same pay grade as Sergeant. Those who held this rank were addressed as Sergeant, but did not have the authority to give commands as a sergeant would. The pay grade number corresponded with the technician's class. T/4 is under the pay grade of E-4 along with Sergeant. Technicians were easily distinguished by the "T" imprinted on the standard chevron design for that pay grade.
