Teatr Narodowy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Teatr Narodowy (National Theater) was founded in Poland by its last monarch, Stanisław August Poniatowski, in Warsaw in 1765, during the Polish Enlightenment. Suspended after the November Uprising (1830), Teatr Narodowy was recreated in the Second Polish Republic in 1924. The quality of Teatr Narodowy was adversely affected by government pressure during the time of the People's Republic of Poland (1945-1989).
