"Tears Are Not Enough" was the first single to be released by New Wave group ABC. It was released in 1981 on two formats (7" and 12" vinyl record). The two singles versions of the song are both different from the version on their first album The Lexicon Of Love.
"Tears Are Not Enough" was the debut release of Neutron Records, a "vanity label" used by ABC throughout their tenure at Phonogram. Martin Fry and Mark White produced material for singer Lizzie Tear, which was also released on the Neutron label.
