Team Jean

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Team Jean is an organization founded by the friends of Jean Seiden, a mother suffering from breast cancer, whose goal is to both inspire Jean to survive her battle and to inspire the surrounding community to support the cause of fighting breast cancer through fundraising events such as the Pan-Mass Challenge (a bicycle ride for charity) and the sale of Livestrong bracelets.

Founded in 2002 and based in Jean's hometown of Wayland, Massachusetts, Team Jean recently succeeded in founding the Women's Cancer Research Fund at Massachusetts General Hospital in Jean's honor.

Their website, TeamJean.org, features Jean's personal blog, in which she offers direct updates on her condition, as well as occasional essays on her philosophy of life from death's doorstep. There is also a link to a guestbook, called "Inspire Jean", which gives visitors the option to directly send Jean a message.
