Template talk:Tcname unused
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
[edit] Usage
These templates are used to format tropical cyclone names, typically listed at the end of each season article. Formatting cues are used to differentiate between used, active, and unused names.
- {{tcname unused|<name>}}
- {{tcname active|<name>}}
The only unnamed parameter is the name of the cyclone. You may also leave the name out to get a simple description of the formatting cues.
[edit] Examples
Sample code | Output |
---|---|
{{tcname unused|Camille}} | Camille (unused) |
{{tcname active|Katrina}} | Katrina (active) |
{{tcname unused}} | gray |
{{tcname active}} | bold |
[edit] Discussion
I created these templates because the older AHS season articles had unformatted name lists, and some of the newer ones had inconsistent formatting. I therefore went through all AHS articles and updated them to use the {{tcname unused}} template. The {{tcname active}} template is less important because generally only a small number of cyclones are active at once. — jdorje (talk) 20:13, 20 February 2006 (UTC)
