Tavern on the Green is a restaurant located in Central Park, New York City. Of the several dining rooms, the most famous is the Crystal room with windows overlooking the garden. [1]

The building was originally used to house sheep when built in 1870 and became a restaurant in 1934. In 1974, Warner LeRoy took over the restaurant's lease and reopened it in 1976 after $10 million in renovations. It is currently the highest-grossing independently-owned restaurant in the United States with annual revenues in excess of $34 million and over half a million visitors a year. [2]
