Tattletaling

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tattletaling is the practice of someone informing another person of undesired behavior, sharing secrets or otherwise spreading gossip.

Frequently, young children are guilty of tattletaling, often as a way to seek attention from parents or other adult authority figures. Usually, parents can correct this behavior by teaching a child the difference between "telling on someone" just for that sake and reporting true wrongdoing or other behaviors that can lead to someone hurting himself.
