Tassadaq Hussain Khan

Tassadaq Hussain Khan was born in village Rehara of Poonch District of Azad Kashmir, Pakistan occupied Kashmir.

He joined the British Indian Army as a 2nd Lt.

After independence, he joined the Pakistan Army. He fought in the 1965 war with India and was on with the Pakistan Army that had captured Indian territory. He had his career in the Baloch Regiment of Pakistan Army. He was a member of the Attock Conspiracy to overthrow the dictarship of General Ayub Khan.

He was followed in the Baluch Regiment by his son Captain Riaz Hussain Khan, who was severely injured in East Pakistan during the war in 1971. Captain Riaz, like his father fought valiantly for Pakistan. Captain Riaz died during 1989, in Rawalpindi Pakistan.

After retirement from Pakistan Army, he was commissioned to lead the Armed forces of the Sultanate of Oman. In Oman he was instrumental in removing the autocratic Government of the Sultan who was then succeeded by his Son the reformer. He was a friend of the Shah of Iran among others in the Middle East.

After retiring from the Army in Oman, he got employment for thousands of people from the Sudhan tribe in the Middle East.

He was a fierce nationalist who believed in the rights of the people of Kashmir, in particular the Sudhan tribe.

He joined the Tehrik-e-Istiqlal, political party of Air Marshal Asghar Khan and opposed the dictatorship of Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq.

He has four daughters and two sons. Most of his children live in the United States or in England.

He died on October 27, 1980 in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
