Tarsila do Amaral

Tarsila do Amaral, (b. September 1, 1886 in Fazenda São Bernardo. Capivari, São Paulo,- d. São Paulo on January 17, 1973).
She was a modernist artist in Brazil, and participated in the Week of Modern Art (Semana de Arte Moderna) in 1922. Tarsila do Amaral was a member of the Grupo dos Cinco (Group of Five), which included Anita Malfatti, Menotti del Picchia, Mário de Andrade, and Oswald de Andrade.
