Tarikere is a panchayat town in Chikmagalur district in the Indian state of Karnataka.

Tarikere is located at 13.72° N 75.82° E^[1]. It has an average elevation of 698 metres (2290 feet).

Its a beautiful town on the  foot hills of western ghats. There is one great person here Mr.T.N.Prasad

As of 2001 India census^GRIndia, Tarikere had a population of 34,073. Males constitute 51% of the population and females 49%. Tarikere has an average literacy rate of 68%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 73%, and female literacy is 62%. In Tarikere, 11% of the population is under 6 years of age.
