Taribo West (born March 26, 1974 in Ajegunle, Lagos) is a Nigerian football defender. He is currently without a club after being released by English Championship team Plymouth Argyle on October 6, 2005.

West has had a successful career, playing for AJ Auxerre, Inter Milan, A.C. Milan, Derby County, FC Kaiserslautern, FK Partizan, Al-Arabi and Plymouth Argyle. He has been capped 41 times by the Nigerian national team and played in the 1998 and 2002 World Cups. He was also a member of the Nigerian team that won the golden medal at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia. West is also known for the various unusual and colourful hairstyles that he has sported over the years. West's tackling style has frequently got him into trouble, and throughout his career his lack of pace exacerbated this.

In August 2005, Derby County fans sent shirts to Taribo West's hometown in Nigeria in a campaign backed by BBC Radio Derby.[1]
