Tara Hunt

Tara Hunt is co-founder of Citizen Agency of San Francisco. She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, obtained a degree at the University of Calgary, and lived in Toronto before moving to San Francisco to work for Riya. She continues to be a Canadian citizen.

Tara is widely known for several recent projects in marketing and community-building. She has been practising guerilla marketing for 7 years, working for ad agencies, non-profits and running a consultancy, Rogue Strategies.

She has spawned a new approach to marketing called Pinko Marketing which has collected hundreds of subscribers around the world. She was also instrumental in making BarCamp a worldwide phenomenon, with events in over 30 countries in its first year.

Tara has been one of the lead bloggers on a very popular Canadian online portal One Degree.

Tara was hired in 2005 to lead Riya's marketing efforts. She left Riya as of June 5, 2006, a mutually agreed decision as her interests outgrew Riya while Riya began traditional marketing activities.

Her blog HorsePigCow is considered influential in the Web 2.0 community, and is part of the Web 2.0 Workgroup.

Tara is closely aligned with her boyfriend Chris Messina with whom she's collaborated on BarCamp and co-founded Citizen Agency. She is the mother to a 13 year old son, Tad from a previous relationship.
