Taqsim

Taqsim is a Turkish Roma music improvisational style. The Roma, or Gypsies, of Turkey usually perform taqsim with Darboukas, saz, and other stringed instruments. On some Turkish festivals, the Roma will occasionaly put on costumes and perform for a crowd. Prominent taqsim groups include Kibariye and Gypsy Music of Constantinople, and has somewhat of an infleunce on Albanian music group Kurbeti, which can be heard on the song "San Ta Dio Poulia (Love Birds)".
