Tapasvin

A Tapasvin is a performer of Tapasya, a great human endeavor of discipline.

The most famous tapasvins include Rama, Vishwamitra, Ravana, Vritra, Arjuna. The Lord Siva sits in a perennial tapasya atop Mt. Kailash.
