No, I don't mind, although a tiny bit of credit would be very nice. ;) I love the colors you chose! The only change I made was a bit of tweaking to your image subpage so the War Eagle aligns right. There's only one thing that I'm not sure about. Did you want the two columns to align to the left and right (as they are currently), or did you want fixed positions? Thanks! Regards, Sango123 (e) 20:16, 1 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for being so kind, TantalumTelluride. :) Your user page looks great in Firefox. Regards, Sango123 (e) 04:40, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: ESP/Alerts

Because I didn't reveal my biases in the VfD -- namely, that I had previously had some bad interaction with the members of the group in question. As User:Zompist put it, I was a "disgruntled ex-contributor" to the site. I'd describe my ousting from that site in far less charitable terms -- mainly that I had become really, really annoying. In any case, I shouldn't have voted. --Elkman - (talk) 05:12, 2 March 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for supporting me in my request for adminship! It ended with a tally of 39/5/4, and I am now an admin. I'm glad to have earned the trust of the community, and I will make use of it responsibly. Of course, you can let me know of any comments or concerns you have.

With a million articles in front of me, I'd better get mopping.

And I'm glad you like my signature, though I hope that wasn't the only reason for your support. :)

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for responding to my cry for help in Esperenza. I am not sure I meet the requirements for Esperenza but I wish to join since I feel really alone in Wikiworld.

I recently had a horrible experience for speaking up during an arbitration (spelling? sorry). I am fairly new to Wikipedia, haven't had much of chance to go through everything, however I try. I was bullied in the Rajput article so I left, but I would always pop back to see what was up. The "Hindu" side was fairly rude but the "Pakistani" side was equally rude, the difference between the two? The Hindu side cited valid sources, while the Pakistani side cited none (what I mean to say is that they didn't even cite a source and muscled their POVs). To further create a mess the admin involved got pretty nasty and made some racist statements which ended up making my blood boil. The admin gave the Pakistani side a free hand and was really sympathetic towards them.

The Hindu side ended up getting banned in an arbitration (spelling? Sorry its 4 am right now, couldn't go to sleep) and guess what, I spoke up for what I thought was justice and got banned too and categorised as "The Hindu only side". It was as if no one bothered to read my evidence or anything, just threw me into the group. I was honestly very upset.

What kills me is that one of the Admin's friends named Zora said she was using a book to better grasp an understanding of the topic (before that they were all arguing with their POVs without any knowledge on the topic, that to me is irresponsible), however this is the best part, the book is by M Kasturi, a professor of South Asian Studies at the University of Toronto, no one bothered to read my profile that Dr. Joseph T. O'Connell, the famous Harvard Hindu scholar (primarily to do with Bengal) is Prof. Emeritus of the same department and University and is my mentor in that field. I am still very much in touch with him and his family.

The whole experience was like a slap in the face. I feel as if in Wikipedia, its not about accuracy its about who has more friends and muscle. Is there any way I can get unbanned form working on Rajput?

I am sorry if I troubled you. Thank you for reading my cry for help and responding.

[edit] Thanks

Oh, hi, it's Flameviper12. I was talking about the post you made on my Types of Vandalism MfD page. You said it right; I am very enthusiastic. I think vandalism should go down now; people probably give up vandalising the Wiki for Lent, hehehe. Especially if they have no life. Oh, by the way, for future reference, I'm a guy; it was kinda odd looking seeing myself as "he or she". Bah, it's not your fault. Nevermind me. Male in Mississippi

I think this message was sorta like getting a wrong number because I had no idea who they were asking for (or in this case, talking about). I'll furthur investigate on it. Thanks for telling me. [edit] My RfA

Thank you for your support in my request for adminship. I'm delighted that the RfA succeeded with a final consensus of 52/17/7, and receiving comments including having 'excellent potential to become a great moderator', and I am now an administrator. It did however only just pass, and I shall do my very best to rectify any of my errors, including the general belief that I should do more article work. If you have any concerns, or if you ever feel that I may be able to help you, please feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Again, thank you!

Thanks! I've currently put my name down as a guinea pig on the proposed DFA Nomination test page, but if nothing comes of that, I'd be delighted to accept your nomination. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 22:31, 8 March 2006 (UTC)

We need some people to work on the nomination (as a test run of how it would work if DFA is accepted), and if you want to help, you can work on the nom here. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 10:12, 10 March 2006 (UTC)
Well, nothing seems to have become of it (since the person organising the test run doesn't really know me, the nom consists solely of "Smurrayinchester"), so I'd be delighted to accept a such a nomination. smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 22:05, 11 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:Wikihalo

Hi. Thank you for your words and your willingness to join our efforts to improve our awards. There's no current discussion about the Wikihalo going on at the moment, although I imagine one will get started any minute now (perhaps even as I write this). The best place to work on this is at Wikipedia:Barnstar and award proposals. This page was created mainly for proposing new awards, but we've come to use it for redesigning/reviewing existing awards as well (in fact, over the last couple of weeks we've had two requests to review awards). That's because this is the most visible and monitored page for discussing awards. By posting there, we make sure that every user interested finds a discussion and is able to contribute. I remain at your disposal for any further help you may require, on this or any other topic. Regards, Redux 03:35, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Once Again, You Are My Hero

I was going to ignore it until your words. Hopefully I can better elucidate my thoughts with this new forum. You've brought me back from the brink once again, I can only hope that my words tonight when I am focused on the matter will be worth your confidence in me. Karmafist 19:56, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

I have, and you're absolutely right. If I continue the petitioning, i'll use the sig rather than the welcome message. However, I'm not going to petition just for petitioning's sake either, the only reason to do that might have been solved by the soapbox coming from this rfar. Who knows? Whatever works, man. Once again, thank you for your faith in me, I'll continue to do my best to become a better Wikipedian and a better person in trying to make a better world for everybody. Karmafist 03:07, 15 March 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the compliment, I assume it's died down over there. I just feel dumb not for realizing that solution in the first place, or feeling like I would have let everyone down if I just gave up going balls against the wall. There are many ways to get what you want, thank you so much for reminding me that and being my friend through all of this. We're not at the end yet, but I think we're closer. I'm going to blank my page again, I think the storm might be clearing. Karmafist 05:33, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

Hey man, thnx alot for both the awards left on my doorstep! I appreciate the thought. Unfortunatly I will not be able to contribute as much as I have been previously. I will be around sooner or later cause there are still a few things on my list. Thnx again. :) Joe I 22:04, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

By the way, your page looks really cool. :) I was gonna ask someone if they could do this before you gave me those barnstars, but never had time. Could we make a Numi barnstar? Either out of, I was thinkin the Double Eagle, but I kinda liked the way the Three-cent piece looked (like a sherriffs badge or something...Anyways). But just cut it out so it looks like a barnstar? [edit] New caction tool

I'm pleased to inform you that my caction tool v2 is now released. To update to the new version, replace the link to the old version in your monobook.js with

{{subst:js|User:Haza-w/cactions.js}}

The reason I can't simply replace the old version is that the new one doesn't quite work for admins, and I'm still waiting for assistance before I completely roll it out.

Tell me what you think of it. If there are any bugs, then let me know, including your browser version in the report. Thanks, and I hope you like the new version! haz (user talk)e 16:07, 17 March 2006

I see... This problem only occurs when viewing in a lower screen resolution, such as 800 by 600. I am working on a solution for you which will involve removing the "history", "move" and "watch" tabs and placing them in the options menu. Bear with me! haz (user talk)e 16:21, 18 March 2006

[edit] Tantalum telluride

Hi there. I was bored, so I hit the Random Article button and guess what, tantalum telluride came up. I thought it sounded familiar, then I remembered your username. Something of a coincidence, but there we go. Anyway, seeing the request on your userpage, I've added another sentance, though I think it's now more or less as long as it's going to get. Not easy to expand an article with only 84 Google results, most of which are very technical. [edit] Esperanza Newsletter, Issue #1

Reach out is a program aimed at allowing users to bring issues that they have had in Wikipedia to a listening, sympathetic and caring audience:
"No one can know how we feel if we do not say. We cannot expect to get understanding if we do not ask for it. No one will dispute that sometimes life's issues are too much for one person. It is fair to say that sometimes Wikipedia's problems fall under the same heading. This is a place where you can bring the bruises that can sometimes be got on this project for attention."
The Stress alerts program aims at identifying users who are stressed, alerting the community of thier stress and works in tandem with the Stressbusters at trying to identify causes of stress and eliminating them.
Note from the editor
Welcome to this new format of the Esperanza Newsletter, which came about during the last Advisory Council meeting - we hope you like it! The major changes are that each month, right after the Council meeting, this will be sent out and will include two featured programs and a sum up of the meeting. Also, it will be signed by all of the Advisory Council members, not just Celestianpower. Have an Esperanzial end of March, everyone!
  1. Future meetings are to be held monthly, not fortnightly as before.
  2. Bans and Access level changes (apart from autovoice) in the IRC channel are to be reported at the new log.
  3. In the IRC channel, there is going to be only one bot at a time.
  4. The charter requires members to have 150 edits and 2 weeks editing. Why this is the case will be clarified.
  5. A new Code of Conduct will be drafted by JoanneB and proposed to the Esperanza community.
  6. The NPA reform idea is to be dropped officially.
  7. Charter ammendments are to be discussed in future, not voted on.
  8. The Advisory Council is not going to be proposed to be expanded by the Advisory Council themselves, if others want to propose it, they will listen.
Signed...

[edit] Hi, here's a question for you

Hi there,

I was wondering...I got involved in a discussion on a delete vote page with a member you once welcomed (by the name of Wilmat or something along those lines) and was going to attempt to use his talk page, but it's clear he is not a member who uses this site that much (in fact one of his only articles was about a non-notable cartoon he created).

Anyhow, I went to my history page and checked up on the debate and found that he had changed my comments in the vote area AFTER the discussion had ended and under where it said NOT to change the page again.

These comments were insulting and I don't find this kind of behavior to be amusing and it is clear that this user is abusing the site due to his anger that his article on his own, unknown material has been deleted. Again, I feel better contacting somebody connected with him with a serious interest in this site (instead of leaving a comment on his talk page) and hope you can correct this problem. Thanks

[edit] RfA Results and Thanks

TantalumTelluride/Archive6, thank you for supporting me in my recent RfA. Although it did not succeed as no consensus was declared (final: 65/29/7), I know that there is always an opportunity to request adminship again. If and when that day comes, I hope you will once again support me. If at any time I make any mistakes or if you would like to comment on my contributions to Wikipedia, you are more than welcome to do so. Regardless of your religious, cultural, and personal beliefs, I pray that whatever and whoever motivates you in life continues to guide you on the most righteous path.
