Tanya Beckett is a BBC News presenter, currently co-anchoring the daily World Business Report programme on BBC World and BBC News 24.

Tanya was educated at Redland High School for Girls, an independent school in Bristol, Avon, and later studied at Pembroke College, Oxford graduating with a degree in Metallurgy and the Science of Materials and gaining a Blue in fencing.

She subsequently worked for Courtaulds carrying out research into the properties of carbon and glass fibres before spending four years as an investment banker for Commerzbank in Frankfurt and Citibank in London. She worked for a number of broadcasters including CNBC Europe, NBC Europe, Sky News, CNN International and News Direct Radio 97.3 in London before joining the BBC. She has been a regular presenter for BBC Breakfast and BBC News 24.

She is married to former LBC 97.3 presenter Charlie Gibson
