Tanuma Okitsugu
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tanuma Okitsugu (田沼 意次 1719-88) was a Rōjū (government official) of the Tokugawa shogunate who introduced monetary reform.
Though his reform has no particular name, it is identified with rampant corruption and huge inflation of currency.
His son, Tanuma Okitomo, was killed by Sano Masakoto, one of Hatamoto.
