Tantra massage

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tantra massage is a massage modality developed by Andro Andreas Rothe, founder of the Diamond Lotus Tantra Lounge, the first Tantra institute in Germany (1977).[1] It includes various massage techniques from different schools of massage with elements from yoga, bioenergetics, and sexual therapy.[1]

The client or recipient of a tantra massage plays a passive role in the process.[1] The process combines the feeling of well-being associated with deep relaxation with the therapeutic confrontation of sexual issues.[1]

Its adherents[name a specific person/group] claim that tantra massage does not include any kind of sexual exchange.[citations needed]

According to the Tantra Massage Association, tantra massage is based on ideas taken from the work of Wilhelm Reich, Carl Jung, Carl Rogers and Alexander Lowen. Other sources of inspiration included the work of Mantak Chia, Joseph Kramer (who developed the "lingam massage"), and Annie Sprinkle (who developed the "yoni massage").[1]
