Tantra Online

Tantra Online is an MMORPG developed by HanbitSoft, the Korean distributor of StarCraft. It is largely based on Hindu mythology, with some Buddhist influence. This is apparent through many aspects of the game's universe, from the names of the principal deities involved in the back story (Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva; the Hindu trinity) to the magic system (utilizing mantras, lit. "words of power" in Sanskrit) to the various playable classes (Devas, Rakshasas, Asuras, Garuda, etc., all demonic, angelic or otherwise celestial beings in Hindu and Buddhist traditions).

Like other MMORPG games, you have to create a character by choosing one of the 8 tribes in tantra, and kill monsters to attain higher level. Leveling can be done either by solo or you can create/join a party. Once in a party, the experience and money drops of each monster is divided to each party member. When you level up, you gain extra "chakra points" which you have to distribute to any of the 4 chakras (heart, nerve, muscle, and mental) to give your character a good build up.
Chakra of Heart is primarily needed in order not to die when engaged in a battle. For most of the tribes it is not necessary to have very high heart. Some players only give about 2.5k hp (more or less), depending on their character(tribe) and job.
Chakra of Mental is for deva/garuda to increase magical attacks, combined with heart.
Chakra of Nerve is for asura/rakshasa if they choose to be archers (karya), combined with heart for it increases avoid and attack success.
Chakra of Muscle is for those who plan to take druka (for asura/rakshasa) and nakayuda (yaksa/gandharva) as 2nd job for it increases physical attack.
When a character reaches level 30, he/she can choose a god (Vishnu, Brahma, Shiva) to serve to. In a certain map called Kruma, one can kill any who doesn't belong to his/her god to gain "master point", which is needed to have the special skills called "God Skills".

THE EIGHT SECOND JOBS

1.Vidya - yaksa/gandharva. Most of his/her skills is for support (e.g. increase max hp, increase attack rate, increase magic resistance, increase defense, heal, etc.). This job is highly needed in a party in areas where monsters creates extreme damage to one's hp. These characters often have low attack power but are highly endure for they have heal and full support skills. They use battle weapon and shield.
2.Nakayuda - yaksa/gandharva. It is a battle-type yaksa/gandharva, and wears a battle weapon. Its build up is heart-muscle, or sometimes, others use heart-nerve. They bear high damages and stuns (once stunned, one can't move or use skill until the effect is gone at about 8 seconds, depending on the level of stun). They also have heal and poison attack.
3.Samabat - deva/garuda. A heart-mental-type a magician, these tribe has higher hp than an abikara. Their normal attacks are magics (e.g. flame attack, thunder attack). Samabats have the ability to summon huge lion pets (patura) and a flame-type pet.
4.Abikara - deva/garuda. Heart-mental. Most abikara prefer less hp (about 1k more or less) and the rest, mental, reason why they too have high damages.
5.Karya - asura/raksasha. Heart-nerve type. They have a skill to hide, making then unnoticeable without "eye skill" (rocana). Only Asuras/Rakshasas and Devas/Garudas have eye skill. Tribes in this job also have "chaya", a long-range skill to hold other characters making tem unable to move for few seconds, depending on the level of chaya.
6.Druka - asura/raksasha. Tribes in this job are considered the strongest, for their damage unestimateable if they use combo skills (e.g. vega+dibanda or hide+dibanda). A combo-skill damage depends on one's timing. In Tantra-Philippines, some drukas at 70-85 with good accessories gave 20k damage to monsters. One of the highest damages of a druka on a screenshot was 26k on bongbo at exile area.
7.Satya - naga/kimnara. They often have low damage for their best build up is pure heart. Their main duty is to "tank" all monsters. When they are in a party, monsters (except a boss) preffer to hit nagas. Satya has high hp and defense because of their chakra build and skills.
8.Banar - naga/kimnara. Battle-type naga.

3.Jina - it is where upgrade stones are upgraded to attain higher-level upgrade stones.
4.Pamir Plains - It has the gate to Emperor's Thomb.
5.Exile - here, one can craft high-level earrings and bracelets.
6.Emperor's Tomb - Here lies the 2 emperors with 4 sisters each, which drops high-level weapons and armors.
7.Biryu - the latest map; monsters drops high-level items and high experience for faster level-up.
8.Anaka Kruma - PvP area for levels 60 and below
9.Kruma - where gods battle. Anyone can kill anyone not in his/her god. It is also the place to craft crystal weapons.
10.Chaturanga - high-pranas (experience), most of monster's drops here are upgrade stone. The gate to this map is on each God's Castles, which only opens if their god has 5 kalas installed in their castles. Other god can steal kalas for there are only 9 kalas in the whole Kruma. There is only one chaturanga in each server, thus, a certain player may meet other player not belonging to his god and kill each other. This map is like a chessboard. It has 25 rooms and 4 entrances. Three of the four entrance gates belong to each gods, the other (4th) is for those who were teleported from Rappu's room. Each room has different kinds of monsters, with their respective bosses (knight, knight, elephant, turtle, etc.) which drops a chess piece. When all of the chess pieces are collected, they can be crafted to make a Rappu Key, the key to the middle room where a Chaturanga Boss lies (Rappu). It has 2 forms and once killed, it drops one piece "crystal", needed in making the precious crystal weapon. Time alotment to kill Rappu is only one hour. When Rappu is not killed, the players in his room will be teleported to the 4th entrance.
