Tangerine was the second single released by British rock band Feeder (band) and the first that was taken from the Polythene album.
It had no airplay on Radio 1 or any UK national station despite being played the once on the Steve Lamacq Evening Session, but did raise Feeder's profile within the underground and closer to the mainstream, it was also their first hit single according to The Guinness Book of British Hit Singles, when it made the UK top 75 at #60 on 2 March 1997.
It's video featured the band in an abandoned house, dodging Tangerines firing at them while performing the song, with bass player Taka Hirose wearing an Orange boiler suit (the band's dress code at the time), Grant Nicholas with a fur coat and Orange t-shirt and drummer Jon Lee with a short-sleeved dark blue t-shirt. There was also a man inside a bath tub filled with Tangerines which he was throwing behind his left shoulder for most of the video, with them all pilling back into the tub in a reverse motion as the video ends along with the song.
During mid 2001, frontman Grant Nicholas revealed a dislike for the song and gets a few comical shouts at gigs requesting the song.
