Tan Joe Hok

Tan Joe Hok (Hendra Kartanegara) who was born in Bandung on August 11, 1937, is an Indonesian badminton hero.
He lived in Bandung until he finished his high school study. He has a bachelor degree majoring in Chemistry and Biology from Baylor University, Texas, USA.
He is the first Indonesian who win the All England Cup (1959) and the first Indonesian to win a gold medal in Asian Games (1962). He has many other notable achievements in badminton field, both as a player and a coach.
He is married to Goei Kiok Nio and has 2 children.
