A Department of Education (Northern Ireland) inspection in May 2005 found that the school had a "very positive ethos based on good relationships at all levels", with a relaxed and family atmosphere in the school. A wide range of extra-curricular activities were available and included sports, a chess club, French lessons and cycling proficiency. Relationships and cross-community links had also been established with other schools in the area. Teaching quality was "always satisfactory and, on occasions, very good".
