[edit] Birth and Early Marriage

Tamara Jean Rotolo, was born 25 October 1961. In the 1980s, she married David Schumacher. They legally separated in 1989 and were divorced in 1992.

[edit] Affair With The Prince

In July 1991, while traveling in Monaco, Tamara had a brief affair with Albert on the Côte d'Azur. When Tamara discovered she was pregnant, she contacted Albert, who agreed to help--until his father Prince Rainier III found out and ceased all contact. On March 4, 1992, she gave birth to a girl she named Jazmin Grace Grimaldi.

[edit] Jurisdiction Issues

Tamara named Prince Albert as Jazmin's father on the birth certificate. A mere seven months later, in November of 1992, she made her first claim against the Prince in Riverside County Superior Court of California. Though it went up the chain, the claim was finally dismissed on jurisdictional grounds in 1993. Although he acknowledged in 1992 to having had a relationship with Tamara, Prince Albert never confirmed nor denied paternity.

[edit] Lifestyle Change

In the early 2000s, Tamara became a real estate agent. She moved to a gated area and enrolled her daughter (as Jazmin Grace Grimaldi) in a private school. Tamara's family has stated that Prince Albert has been providing support for Jazmin for some years now. Jazmin has no rights to inherit the throne, and holds no titles.

However, illegitimate children are nothing new in Monaco nor would it be new for one of Albert's children to inherit his throne -- in every generation for the last 100 years a Grimaldi has had an acknowledged illegitimate child; Louis, Antoinette, Stephanie, Albert II. Of these, six have gained rights through legitimation, including the great grandmother of Jazmin, Princess Charlotte who obtained her rights and then by declaration ceded them to Rainier May 30, 1944.

[edit] Other Controversies of the Prince

July, 2005, Prince Albert II confirmed he has an illegitimate son Eric Alexandre Coste.

February, 2006, French magazine Voici published photographs of mother (Tamara) and daughter (Jazmin Grace) during a visit to Monaco and in April ran front page pictures of them leaving the Paris office of the Prince's lawyer Thierry Lacoste.

On June 1, 2006 Albert finally admitted through his lawyer Thierry Lacoste that Jazmin Grace was in fact his daughter.

Tamara is still a real estate agent. She lives in California.
