The Tamar Valley Line is a railway line from Devonport in Plymouth, to Gunnislake near Tavistock in Devon, England. The line follows the River Tamar for much of its route.
The towns and villages served by the route are listed below.
- Plymouth (formerly Plymouth North Road) - interchange with other services
- Devonport
- Dockyard
- Keyham
- St Budeaux Victoria Road (start of branch line)
- Bere Ferrers
- Bere Alston (trains reverse here)
- Calstock (on the Cornish side of the River Tamar)
- Gunnislake
Passenger services are operated by First Great Western using Class 150 or Class 153 diesel multiple units. Up till Winter of 2005, Arriva Trains Wales also operated services on the branch.
There has been a long standing proposal to rebuild the line from Gunnislake to Tavistock. This is unlikely to happen in the short-term.
