Tama Toshi Monorail Line
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Tama Toshi Monorail Line (多摩都市モノレール線 Tamatoshi Monorēru-sen?), also referred to as the Tama Monorail, is part of the public transport network of the western part of Tokyo.
Operated by Tokyo Tama Intercity Monorail Co., Ltd., the double tracked, 16 kilometer monorail line carries passengers between Higashi Yamato and Tama in 36 minutes. It opened in 1998 (from Kamikitadai to Tachikawa-Kita) and was extended in 2000 (to Tama-Center).
Tachikawa-Kita (=North) and Tachikawa-Minami (=South) are the most important stations, enabling transfer to the JR East Chūō Main Line and Tama-Center transfer to Odakyu or Keio Railways.
It's important line that links north and south in Tama Area, western of Tokyo Metropolis Area. But large deficits fall down the cooporation to become insolvency.
