[edit] History

[edit] Samurai Shodown

Tam Tam is the greatest warrior and hero of his village, Green Hell. Hearing from the village elders their sacred artifact is missing, he takes the responsibility to retrieve it. He now scours the world to recover his village's stolen treasure, the mysterious jewel called the "Palenke Stone."

[edit] Samurai Shodown IV

Having retrieved the teasure, and safely returned it to the village, Tam Tam returned to his normal village life. However, he is now notified of the grave calamities befalling his country due to an "evil god". Assuming his role as village hero once again, Tam Tam sets for Japan. However, he fails and as divine punishment is transformed into a monkey, Paku Paku. As a monkey, he helped Cham Cham recover the two stones for his village, somehow dying in the process.

[edit] Samurai Shodown V

The Tam Tam in Samurai Shodown V is a different warrior, using his legendary mask in his stead. After the original failed, the second Tam Tam sets out to save the original. In his ending, the second Tam Tam places the magical mask on the deceased first. Once the mask is back on, the original Tam Tam comes back to life.

[edit] Trivia

  • Tam Tam and Cham Cham's names, fighting style, and origins are all roughly gathered from the ancient Mayas. It is of note that Tam Tam's idol is even cited as the lengendary Mexican god Quetzalcoatl, named like this by the Aztec people, while the Mayas name it Kukulkan, both people in Mexico. However, from the original Samurai Shodown their country's location is somewhere in the Llanos, the Sabannas between Venezuela and Colombia.
  • Tam Tam's face has never been shown in any game appearance. He does, though, remove his mask at the end of the first game. His face is obscured because he flings the mask at the screen immediately after removing it. This simple mask removal led people to believe he was cursed into the monkey that follows his younger sister, Cham Cham, although the real reason runs much deeper.
