Talk:Tamriel

I need to know what Et'Ada is exatly.Thanks.
oh, ok i thought it was a type of haven. speacking of witch, is there a haven for the dead in tamriel?
- Well, the closest thing I can think of is... Aetherius, realm of the Aedra, and maybe Oblivion, realm of the Daedra. -Senori 05:43, Dec 18, 2004 (UTC)
- There's at least one more confirmed afterlife: the very Valhalla-like Sovngarde, citadel of Shor. In the Bloodmoon expansion pack you can find Ulfgar the Unending, and if you provide him with the book about Sovngarde written by the scribe in Thirsk he'll ask you to kill him in valiant combat so he can enter it. After you do his ghost will appear and confirm it exists. Cygnus360 10:41, 27 July 2005 (UTC)
just to tell readers, imperials are infact playable in arena (unlike what is in the text)
-
- Imperials are playable in theory, but the screen where one selects the province of one's birth is glitched in my version of Arena, and Cyrodiil is not selectable. This means I can't play as an Imperial. (My version is the one Bethesda uploaded to their website and made freeware on the tenth anniversary of its release-that's where I got it.) Your mileage may vary.
In the list of pantheons Lorkhan is listed as a Altmer god. Isnt he a Dwemer god?
- The Missing God appears in every major pantheon, according to [Varieties of Faith in the Empire]. I think the Dwemer were merely the only ones to find a part of Lorkhan and worship it. Cygnus360 28 June 2005 07:23 (UTC)

[edit] Chimer
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Dwemer actually more of a grouping/subrace within the Chimer race than this article suggests? After all, they are the Seventh Great House of Morrowind. Cygnus360 28 June 2005 20:30 (UTC) -- ==st
- The Dwemer were the seventh Great House of Resdayn, due to their alliance with the Chimer. They appear all across Tamriel and are not related to the Chimer, other than possibly being mer.
- In the article about the Dumner it states that their skin was made ashen due to the fact that the Neverar was murdered, but here it says different. which is true? Dragosani 06:16, 24 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Religion
This page isn't supposed to be about the religions of Tamriel, but that takes up most of it. Shouldn't that be made into a seperate page?
- Probably, though that section would be a lot smaller if the descriptions of multi-pantheon gods weren't duplicated for each pantheon. —Andux 08:49, 30 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] A map
I was just wondering if someone could upload a complete map of Tamriel to make the article a bit more understandable... I mean, Azeroth has its own map uploaded, and so does Faerûn. Even Star Wars galaxy does. Why not Tamriel? --Koveras 18:05, 17 January 2006 (UTC)
-
- Do you mean the complete colored map? CP/M 00:57, 19 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Status
Going to stick Tamriel in the list of fictional nations. Should Tamriel be listed as a single nation, or should each province be listed as a vassal nation of Cyrodiil? I'd suggest listing Tamriel as one nation, and treating each vassal-nation as a subnational unit, similar to the United States in reality.
[edit] Size
Should we mention how Tamriel's size is utterly FUBARed? Daggerfall was so obscenely large that, based on the most recent three games, the Iliac Bay comprises over 6,000 times more area than Vvardenfell and Cyrodiil put together. The demographics are equally bad, with 750 people around the Iliac Bay for every one in Vvardenfell or Cyrodiil. LWizard @ 01:23, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's just a scaling issue really. I don't see it as a major issue personally. --Dv82matt 03:06, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Origin
I'm thinking about including a section on the origin myths-for example, the Mythic Dawn model stating that Tamriel was the 17th plane of Oblivion until Lorkhan was overthrown, and the Redguard one with the snake shedding its skin and each skin being a universe. Would it be worthwhile? Umlautbob 03:13, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- 'Twill be. Sorry I'm not working on this article a lot, Great power is going through a massive renovation and I'm concentrating my wikitime on that these days. Nobleeagle (Talk) 07:17, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'm caught up in real-life affairs myself. I'll look into the necessary info and add that. Umlautbob 18:52, 6 September 2006 (UTC)

-
- I have decided NOT to include the proposed section, thinking it more fitting in Nirn. It'd be like taking an article about, say, South America and including a section about the creation of Earth. I will instead make additions to a similar section already there. Umlautbob 08:32, 8 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Holidays
Most country articles have a section on Holidays. But this source presents way too many. Which do people believe should be included? Nobleeagle (Talk) 06:38, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- We can narrow things down by limiting it to Empire-wide holidays. Many of these are regional. Umlautbob 08:22, 8 September 2006 (UTC)
[edit] National status stuff
I'm not sure the politicly correct, or official name for what Wiki calls it but should not the Tamrielic Empire get one of those little info bars on the side that tell its government style, land mass, population, capital and all that good trivia?
