Tallahassee Thunder

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Tallahassee Thunder is a now-defunct af2 charter member team. They played their home games at the Tallahassee-Leon County Civic Center in Tallahassee, Florida. Despite getting to the playoffs during their last two seasons, Round 1 K.O.'s from Tennessee Valley and Florida eventually lead to the disbanding of the franchise, as they ceased all operations after the 2002 season. Serving as the team's mascot was the Thunder King, a big fuzzy brown lion, who's since moved on to other projects.

With the departure of the Thunder, Tallahassee would be without an arena or indoor football team until the arrival of the AIFA's Tallahassee Titans.
