Talk Radio UK launched on 14th February 1995, with Sean Bolger and Samantha Meah presenting the original Talk Radio Breakfast Show. Other presenters on Talk Radio included Tommy Boyd, Ceaser The Geezer, Wild Al Kelly, Anna Raeburn, Gary Newbon and Dale Winton. Later in the year James Whale and Ian Collins joined the station. A revamp in September saw the breakfast show taken over by Simon Bates and the 10am-12noon slot taken over by Jonathan King with Steve Wright and Trevor MacDonald hosting weekend shows. Just six months later another revamp saw Paul Ross taking over the station's breakfast show (later joined by Carol McGiffin) with drivetime being hosted by Peter Deeley with Scott Chisholm back on mid-mornings as well as Anna Raeburn and Tommy Boyd returning to their original start times.

Thursday 12th November 1998, coined Black Thursday by Talk Radio listeners, was the day that the station was taken over by a new set of bosses, headed by Kelvin MacKenzie. More information soon.
[edit] The Demise of Talk Radio UK
At Midnight on Monday 17th January 2000, Talk Radio became talkSPORT with the station moving from Oxford Street to a new studio in Hatfield on the South Bank of the River Thames near Waterloo Station. With the advent of a new sports station, this saw the introduction of a dedicated Sports Breakfast show, mid-morning motoring show called The Car Guys and sports programming in the afternoon, drive and evening with a number of new presenters and personalities.
