Talk:Talmudic Academies in Babylonia

Some of the Jewish Encyclopedia stuff has already been incorporated into the History of the Jews in Iraq. I also added information to Fallujah and Sura (town) on the subject. Perhaps we should make this the main article on the academies by making sure it does not duplicate the History article?

That sounds like a good idea. --Briangotts (talk) 04:48, 3 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Locations

Where are all these places ? Are their precise locations known ? Are there any archaeological remains ? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.41.27.84 (talk • contribs).

I think it is in what is today Iraq. --Shlomke 01:22, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
The Pumbedita page mentiones that it's near modern day Fallujah. I don't know where Sura or Nehardea are, but there are enough clues (Nehardea was near the Euphrates river), that someone who knew the geography of the region could give an approximate area. --Bachrach44 01:44, 13 June 2006 (UTC)
