Talega, San Clemente, California
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Talega is a master planned community in the city of San Clemente, California and in Orange County, California. It began construction in 1999, and is set to be complete in 2007. It features an 18 hole golf course, 2 elementary schools, and a middle school. It is served by the Capistrano Unified School District, and was recently annexed to San Clemente from the unincorporated territories it existed in upon the beginning of construction. It hosts a lifestyle unliske any other in Orange County in that it is a community centered around the views of the Pacific Ocean. Almost all the parks in the community have views, as well as all the pools and community clubhouses. It was created to bring a sense of an Old Time Neighborhood feel back to Southern California, which was achieved with small lots, the use of cul-de-sacs, and many scattered pocket parks to bring children together. It is home to 9,000 residents and, when completed, will have a total of 3,500 residential units. Generally the homes are detached, but there are scattered pockets of condominiums and mansion estates. The community has a predominant Spanish/Tuscan architecture, which is carried out in almost every home, and all the public spaces and buildings within the community.
