This breed of dog is extinct

The Talbot Hound was a snow white hunting dog in Great Britain that was of such large stature with such keen smell that it was credited with being capable of bringing down a white stag in the midst of winter.

William the Conqueror is credited with bringing the Talbot to Britain in the eleventh century A.D. Though the breed is now extinct, it is thought to be a more recent ancestor of the modern-day beagle.

The term "talbot" is used in heraldry to refer to a hunting dog.
