Talat A. Wizarat

Prof. Dr. Talat Ayesha Wizarat is a noted scholar of International Relations and Middle Eastern Studies from Pakistan. She is currently the Chairperson of the Department of International Relations, University of Karachi, Pakistan.

Dr. Wizarat holds M.A. (Karachi University), M.A. (University of South Carolina, U.S.A) & Ph.D. from Department of International Relations, University of Karachi. Middle East, Science Technology & International Relations, Strategic Studies, Crisis Management, Conflict Resolution and International organizations are her fields of specialization. She secured fulbright Hays Award 1997-78 and has published extensively on Middle East, South Asia and Conflict Resolution in Pakistan and abroad. She has been invited as a Guest Speaker by various Staff Colleges including the Air War College, National Defense College and Command and Staff College. Dr. Wizarat has been invited by TV channels as an expert for their Current Affairs programs. She has organized and participated in various National and International Seminars. Currently she is guiding students for M.Phil. and Ph.D. programs. Her books on "Middle East Peace Process", "Conflict Resolution" and "Strategies for Peace in the Persian Gulf" are now in market. She is founder member of International Relations Society of Pakistan and Ambassador Alumni Association of International Relations Department. She has taught Science Technology & International Relations, West Asia and the Arab World, Far East, Strategic Studies, International Organization, Political Geography, Theories of International Relations, Pakistan Movement, South Asia & have been lecturing at programmers organized by Karachi University for candidates appearing in the superior services examination. Under her first tenure as Chairperson the Syllabi were revised and many new courses were introduced among them are Crisis Management and Conflict Resolution, Disarmament and Arms Control, Confidence Building Measures, Research Methodology, Comparative Foreign Policy Analysis and Science, Technology and International Relations. She holds membership of the several academic bodies. Currently six candidates are working on M.Phil and Ph.D theses under her supervision.
