[edit] Plot
Jen tries to urge Nikki, Jude, Wyatt and Jonsey to all get jobs at the mall, for they had promised to. At the time, Jen is working two jobs at once, The Big Squeeze (a lemonade stand) and at The Penalty Box (a sports store). Jen had to work at the Penalty Box because she needed to repay the store for damages she did, but once the pay was done, she would rather work there than wear a lemon hat. At the same time, Caitlyn Cooke, not yet part of the group, expires her credit card at The Khaki Barn, and needs a job to pay her debt back. All 6 try out for jobs, Jen at The Penalty Box, Wyatt at the coffee shop, Jude at Stick-It etc. Only Jen and Jude are successful, but only because Jude lied to the manager and he gave Jude Stick-It to own.
Jen then sees Caitlyn, crying that she tried for almost every job in the mall and failed all the interviews. Thinking about who will run The Big Squeeze when she's at The Penalty Box, Jen says she will train Caitlyn for the job. She complains about the big lemon hat, but sticks to it anyway.
But in order to train Caitlyn, Jen must miss some time at The Penalty Box. This makes Coach Halder, the boss of The Penalty Box, mad, and he goes to find Jen. Caitlyn is also flunking the test at The Big Squeeze, and when she grinds her cellphone in the blender, Jen blows up, saying what a klutz she is. But then Coach Halder arrives, saying why he should hire Jen if she does not even show up. Catilyn sticks up for Jen, and she keeps her job at The Penalty Box. Jen then gives Caitlyn The Big Squeeze, and all is right. Caitlyn then sees her friend Tricia, who sees Caitlyn's lemon hat and says they shouldn't be friends anymore. To cheer her up, they invite her into the group, and the series name 6teen is justified.
Wyatt now has a job at the music store "Spin This" in the country section (he hates country music) and Nikki gets the worst job ever in her perspective: working at the Khaki Barn. And Jonesy, well...it does not matter.
[edit] Quotes
- Wyatt: (while applying for a job at the coffee shop) Well, I'm here all the time, I figure I might as well get paid for it.
- Jonesy: (to Caitlin) Welcome to the 'hood... So, what are you doing tonight?
Jen: No Jonesy! Bad boy! - Jude: I just told the guy I owned 3 stores already and he gave it to me!
- Jonesy: I got fired ten minutes later. What, how was I supposed to know that the hostess was the boss' daughter?
