Takatsuki-shi is serviced by two kinds of train lines, which called the JR (Japan Railway Company) and the Hankyu. Many people prefer to ride on the JR line, due to the JR's cheaper fares and slightly more frequent service. According to some, there are some recent problems with the JR line, so people have been taking the Hankyu line to avoid any additional hassles. Takatsuki is one of the larger suburban cities outlying central Osaka, so almost every train stops at this station. For example, there are local, rapid, and rapid express trains. Many passengers prefer to ride on the Rapid or Rapid Express, since the riding time is shorter due to less stops made. But this contributes to train overcrowding and during rush hour, it is often difficult to find a free seat. This is not as much of a problem for the local trains, though the ride is longer because the train does stop at every station.
