Takahito Abe (阿部隆人) (born 1960) is a Japanese musician who graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music. He had an interest in synthesizers since the early days of the Moog synthesizer and wrote the background music of several early video games of Falcom and Hudson Soft. Besides this, he has composed songs for children for the Planetarian Program, arranged music for orchestra and band, and now works in the laboratory of musical instruments in the college of music.
Here is a list of video games which have music by him:
- Xanadu Scenario II (PC-88, 1986)
- Romancia (PC-88)
- Asteka 2 - Templo de Sol (Taoyo no Shinden / Temple of the Sun) (PC-88, PC-98, FM7)
- Susano O Densetsu (PC Engine)
- Hagane (Super Famicom)
On the CD "All Over Xanadu," Abe composed tracks 2 through 11. Tracks 7, 8, 10 and 11 are medleys by him and Yuzo Koshiro. (Koshiro got his start working with him, writing a few pieces for the Xanadu games and Romancia).
His song "Temple del Sol" is used in some versions of Ys, and is the main theme of Asteka 2.
He says his favorite work is Susano O Densetsu, the HuCard game by Hudson Soft.
