Tajči

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tajči is the stage name of Tatjana Matejas Cameron (Croatian: Tatjana Matejaš), a Yugoslav (later Croatian) pop music star in early 1990s.

Tajči became a star by representing Yugoslavia at the Eurovision Song Contest 1990.

Her promising career was cut short by break-up of a country and subsequent war during which her uplifting brand of music felt inappropriate for the listeners.

Tajči left Croatia in 1991 and pursued a career in stage musicals. She ended up in the United States, seeking television and recording work in the Los Angeles area. There she met Matthew Cameron, whom she married in 2000. She ended up performing music in Roman Catholic churches while auditioning for roles, some of which she turned down because they required nudity.

The family has relocated to Cincinnati, Ohio, to be more centrally located for the main focus of her career, which is now church music. The couple has three sons.
