Tai Anderson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tai Anderson is the Bass player for the Christian rock band Third Day. He was born Samuel Tai Anderson on June 11, 1976.

Tai played the ukelele at his school band when he was about 9 years old. Later a friend told him he was playing the wrong type of strings, and that he should try the bass.

At 16, he met David Carr. They both went to the same church and would play on the Wednesday night meetings. Soon after, they started traveling all around northern Georgia playing at different churches with their youth pastor. On one of these trips, they were playing at a small church in Powder Springs, Georgia. Third Day was playing that night also. At the time Third Day consisted of Mac Powell and Mark Lee playing acoustic guitars. Tai and David's youth pastor invited Third Day to come and play at his youth group. Soon after Tai joined up with Third Day to fill a much needed spot, the Bass player.

Currently Tai lives in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife and five children - three boys and two girls.
