[edit] History
[edit] Childhood (12 ABY – 21 ABY)
Born on Tatooine, the same place Jedi Master Luke Skywalker grew up, she was orphaned early on, and raised by the Tusken Raiders, one named Sliven in particular. There, she was raised as a Tusken Raider and had a pet bantha named Bangor. At the age of nine she was discovered by Luke Skywalker and Tionne Solusar and taken to Yavin IV.
[edit] Jedi Academy Years (21 ABY – 24 ABY)
At the Jedi Praxeum, she was brought up in the ways of the Force together with Anakin Solo. The two became quick friends after realizing that they were both having the same dream. Together, they discovered the Golden Globe beneath the Palace of the Woolamander and the existence of the ancient Jedi Master Ikrit, who had told them that the thousands of souls were imprisoned within the globe could only be released by Force-sensitive children.
After that, Tahiri and Anakin traveled to Yavin VIII at the request of their Melodie friend, Lyric. There, they accompanied her whilst she went through the Changing Ceremony, in which Lyric would change forms. While on the Planet, the pair discovered an ancient carving on a cave wall depicting the Sith Lord Exar Kun trapping the children of the Massassi race inside the Golden Globe. It also explained that the magic could by penetrated by Force-sensitive children.
Tahiri's foster father, Sliven, the leader of the Tusken clan, demanded that she return to Tatooine, where she would decide her fate after six months of her stay at the Academy: whether she would train as a Jedi or return to her tribe. There, Sliven told Tahiri of her true heritage. Her parents were Force-sensitive moisture farmers named Tryst and Cassa Veila, who were accidentally killed by the Tribe, who went looking for the missing Sliven. In reality, he was in care of her parents and after they were killed, Sliven took Tahiri under his wing, who had to strike a deal with the Tribe so that she could stay. When Tahiri was of age, she would undergo a test to prove herself and Sliven as a leader. Anakin came along with Tahiri during her test, which also turned out to test their Force abilities surviving the harshest deserts of the Dune Sea and battling a Krayt dragon. The duo later returned to Yavin IV and freed the souls of the imprisoned children.
Later, Tahiri, Ikrit, and, to their surprise, a stoway named Uldir Lochett, accompanied Anakin to Dagobah at Anakin's request, who wanted to go to Dagobah and face himself in the same cave Luke Skywalker had visited with Yoda. The four faced swamp creatures and both Tahiri and Anakin went inside the cave separately. While Anakin emerged victorious, Tahiri saw images of her past, including her grandfather, who had once been a Jedi Knight murdered during Palpatine's Great Jedi Purge, and her parents.
Back at Yavin IV, Tionne Solusar, the Jedi historian, found that Obi-Wan Kenobi's lightsaber was saved by Darth Vader. With Tahiri, Anakin, Uldir and Ikrit, Tionne went to Vader's fortress at Bast Castle on Vjun to retrieve it, only to have Orloc, a self-claimed "mage" after it as well. Orloc, after capturing Uldir, manipulated the youth by claiming that he had great powers and therefore would grant him Jedi powers. When his companions rescued him and escaped with the lightsaber and the Jedi Holocron, Uldir stole the artifacts and went back to Orloc.
His companions chased him to Exis Station, in which Orloc had demonstrated his powers to Uldir. In reality, they were only technological tricks that could only be performed in Orloc's base, Exis Station. Uldir, seeing his friends battle Orloc with true Force powers, joined them and defeated the mage. Tahiri and her companions returned to the Jedi Praxeum with both artifacts safely in their possession.
[edit] Yuuzhan Vong War (25 ABY – 30 ABY)
Later, when the Yuuzhan Vong invaded the galaxy, Tahiri was stuck on Yavin IV. It is there that she was later captured and brainwashed by the Yuuzhan Vong shapers Nen Yim and Mezhan Kwaad in an attempt to create a Force-sensitive Yuuzhan Vong agent to hunt Jedi with. The Yuuzhan Vong shapers implanted fake memories leading her to believe that she was someone named Riina Kwaad. The process was unsuccessful and she managed to escape with the help of Anakin Solo, killing Mezhan Kwaad in the process. Their adventure spread through the "Shamed Ones"—the outcast and laborers of the caste—who began to see the Jedi as their saviors.
After Anakin helped Tahiri get over her ordeal, Corran Horn took the two of them to Eriadu, to get supplies. What started as a simple mission, ended up being complicated after learning from a Kelbis Nu, a fellow Rodian Jedi Knight who Anakin and Tahiri set off to rescued after sensing him in trouble, learned from him was that Yag'Dhul, where the Givin lived, was the Vong's next target—because of its handy location between Corellian Trade Spine and Rinma Trade Route. After being arrested by anti-Jedi Erudian judicials, Tahiri saved Anakin (under her Yuuzhan Vong personality) from further interrogation and escaped. The three of them rode under a Yuuzhan Vong spy ship to warn the Givin. While doing so, they encounter Nom Anor and his warriors, in which Anakin challenged one to a duel and defeated him. To destroy the Yuuzhan Vong, the Givin decided to draw air out of the space sation while Corran, Anakin and Tahiri went in search for vac suits there. After complications, the duo were pushed into an oxygenated, yet leaking locker. Anakin, believing that they were going to die, admitted his love for her and the two shared a kiss. Corran Horn, who had, much to the two's embarrassment, figured what had happened between them, returned for them and the combined Givin and New Republic fleet defeated the Yuuzhan Vong.
After a desperate raid on a worldship near Myrkr that was producing Voxyn (Jedi-hunting beasts) that succeeded at the cost of Anakin's life, Tahiri was cut adrift. She had nightmares about Anakin's death, and repeatedly was reminded of their budding relationship that was terminated so abruptly. In time her two personalities (Tahiri and Riina) started to fight for control of her body leaving her in a near-catatonic state. That fight was ended with the help of Jaina Solo who "entered" her mind and made her two halves reconcile and start working together, making Tahiri/Riina stronger than before.
Later, she went to Coruscant along with Corran Horn to bring the Heretic Shaper Nen Yim and the executor Nom Anor, disguised as Yu'Shaa, the prophet, to the living world, Zonama Sekot. She also assisted in the killing of Lord Nyax during a secret mission on enemy held Coruscant. While on Zonama Sekot, she finds out that the Yuuzhan Vong memories she had, and which she thought was created by Master Shaper Mezhan Kwaad, are in fact childhood memories of Nen Yim.
[edit] Dark Nest Crisis (35 ABY – 36 ABY)
With the end of the Yuuzhan Vong war, Tahiri chose to remain on Zonama Sekot and further explore her Yuuzhan Vong half as a Jedi Meditator, helping the Yuuzhan Vong adapt to their new home, as well as settling the tensions between the Worker and Warrior castes. However, five years later, she was summoned away from Zonama Sekot by Raynar Thul's Force call.
There, Tahiri, along with the other Myrkr strike team survivors, joined the Killiks and became Joiners—which resulted in possessing a Killik hive-mind. Tahiri was only partially controlled and soon reverted back to normal. In The Swarm War, Tahiri acts as a spy for Jacen Solo, who uses her to spy on Tesar Sebatyne and Lowbacca. After this, Luke Skywalker sent her, Tesar, and Lowbacca to stay in Dagobah until he felt they were ready and no longer a threat to the Jedi security by his force call. Later, she tells Luke that Jacen is not to be trusted, though she might have been saying this to gain Tesar and Lowbacca's confidence.
[edit] Prophecies
- Master Ikrit's prophecy about having something born in her and Anakin has gone unfulfilled since Anakin's death. It remains a question whether this prophecy will come true in the future.
- Anakin Solo also had a prophecy about Tahiri where she became a Dark Jedi/Yuuzhan Vong hybrid. This prophecy might have been reflecting when Tahiri melded with Riina or might have yet to be fulfilled.
- It is arguable whether this is a prophecy or a vision of a possible future dependent upon Tahiri remaining at the mercy of the Yuuzhan Vong shapers. If the latter, it presumably truncated upon her rescue.
