Talk:Tafsir Qudsi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Which translation did you take those verses from ? Also, can you give an external link to the translation from which the verses are taken ? The Yusuf Ali translation (most standard in English) gives a totally different meaning:

'Nor does he say (aught) of (his own) Desire. It is no less than inspiration sent down to him'. (Qur'an 53: 3-4)

i.e. nothing about 'everything he says is a revelation'. The point of the verses (if you actually consider the context in which the verses are taken) is that Muhammad is not making up these verses, but that they are divineely revealed. Therefore I think it is better to remove that sentence (+ verses) as it's misleading and (after the standard translation is considered) actually irrelevant. ---Mpatel (talk) 16:37, August 22, 2005 (UTC)
