Tad Williams

Robert Paul "Tad" Williams (born March 14, 1957) is the author of several fantasy and science fiction novels, including Tailchaser's Song, the Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn series, the Otherland series, and The War of the Flowers.

Williams is currently writing the Shadowmarch series, the first volume of which was published in November of 2004. The second volume, Shadowplay, is scheduled for release in March 2007.

In July 2006, Williams started publishing a new six issue comic mini-series called The Next through DC Comics. A second series for DC Comics called The Factory is currently in planning stages. In addition, Tad has announced in October 2006 that he will also be writing Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis for DC Comics starting with #50 in February 2007.

Tad Williams has held many jobs -- singing in a band, selling shoes, managing a financial institution, throwing newspapers, and designing military manuals, to name just a few.

He also hosted a syndicated radio show for ten years, worked in theater and television production, taught both grade-school and college classes, and worked in multimedia for a major computer firm. He is cofounder of an interactive television company, and is currently writing comic books and film and television scripts as well as novels. Tad, his wife Deborah Beale and their two children live in the San Francisco Bay Area.
