Taboo (musical)

Taboo is a stage musical scored by and starring Boy George.
The show is based on the life of Boy George in the 1980s, with star Euan Morton playing the young Boy George and Boy George himself playing the legendary Leigh Bowery. Other stars have played the part of Bowery in the production, including Matt Lucas and Julian Clary.
The musical received its premiere on London's West End at the newly opened Venue Theatre on January 29, 2002, and transferred to Broadway in New York City on November 13, 2003. It was the first Broadway production by Rosie O'Donnell, with a rewrite by Charles Busch. The musical was a flop on Broadway, closing after 100 performances, however, Boy George was nominated for a Tony award for his score for the musical.
Euan Morton and Raúl Esparza were also nominated for a Tony award for their work in the Broadway production.
