Tables Turned

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tables Turned is a music licensing and broadcasting company that was launched at the College Music Journal's 2005 Music Marathon conference.

It exists to help indepedent artists find new forms of revenue from their music in addition to record sales. It accomplishes this by sub-licensing music for play on college radio stations and for use in background music systems.

It uses two technologies to accomplish this task, one for college radio, one for background music systems. Because it owns the music delivery devices it's able to have 100% oversight on playback information and thus is often able to redistribute royalties at a higher rate of return than traditional performing rights organizations.
