Tabernacle Township is a Township in Burlington County, New Jersey, United States. As of the United States 2000 Census, the township population was 7,170.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 128.3 km² (49.5 mi²). 128.1 km² (49.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.2 km² (0.1 mi²) of it (0.12%) is water.
Tabernacle Township borders Washington Township, Woodland Township, Southampton Township, Medford Township, and Shamong Township.

As of the census2 of 2000, there were 7,170 people, 2,346 households, and 2,010 families residing in the township. The population density was 56.0/km² (145.0/mi²). There were 2,385 housing units at an average density of 18.6/km² (48.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township was 96.29% White, 2.09% African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.73% Asian, 0.31% from other races, and 0.49% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.48% of the population.
There were 2,346 households out of which 41.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 77.6% were married couples living together, 5.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 14.3% were non-families. 11.4% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.03 and the average family size was 3.28.
In the township the population was spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 7.1% from 18 to 24, 28.2% from 25 to 44, 29.8% from 45 to 64, and 7.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 38 years. For every 100 females there were 102.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.5 males.
The median income for a household in the township was $76,432, and the median income for a family was $86,729. Males had a median income of $58,148 versus $31,250 for females. The per capita income for the township was $27,874. About 1.1% of families and 2.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 1.1% of those under age 18 and 6.0% of those age 65 or over.

The Tabernacle Township Committee is comprised of Mayor Richard Franzen, Deputy Mayor Noble McNaughton, Kimberly A. Brown, Janice R. Weber and Joseph Yates, IV[1].

Burlington Township is in the Third Congressional District and is part of New Jersey's 8th Legislative District[2].
New Jersey's Third Congressional District, covering portions of Burlington County, Camden County and Ocean County, is represented by Jim Saxton (R, Mount Holly). New Jersey is represented in the Senate by Frank Lautenberg (D, Cliffside Park) and Robert Menendez (D, Hoboken).
The 8th legislative district of the New Jersey Legislature is represented in the State Senate by Martha W. Bark (R, Mount Laurel) and in the Assembly by Francis L. Bodine (R, Mount Laurel) and Larry Chatzidakis (R, Mount Laurel). The Governor of New Jersey is Jon Corzine (D, Hoboken).
Burlington County is governed by a five-member Board of Chosen Freeholders. Burlington County's Freeholders are Freeholder Director James K. Wujcik, Deputy Freeholder Director William S. Haines, Jr., Dawn Marie Addiego, Vincent R. Farias and Aubrey A. Fenton.

The Tabernacle School District serves students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Schools in the district are Tabernacle Elementary School for grades K-4 and Kenneth R. Olson Middle School for grades 5-8.
High school students in Tabernacle Township attend Seneca High School located in Tabernacle Township, which is part of the Lenape Regional High School District, a regional high school district which serves the eight municipalities of Evesham Township (2,432 students), Medford Lakes (215 students), Medford Township (1,229 students), Mount Laurel Township (1,868 students), Shamong Township (447 students), Southampton Township (437 students), Tabernacle Township (500 students) and Woodland Township (64 students).
